On January 2015, the Carry On Friends podcast was launched with a simple yet powerful goal: to amplify the voices and stories of Caribbean people, particularly those of us navigating life as part of the diaspora. What started as a passion project to connect with our heritage has grown into something far greater—a platform that celebrates, preserves, and evolves the Caribbean identity.

Now, as the podcast celebrates 10 incredible years, I am proud to share an update to the purpose, vision, mission, and core values that I hope will take us through the next 10 years of Carry On Friends. This moment isn’t just about looking back at what has been built—it’s about looking forward and inviting you to join me in embracing the next chapter.

Why Now?

For over 10 years, I have had earlier iterations of these guiding principles but they’ve never been explicitly shared with you, the community. The 10th anniversary of the launch of the podcast feels like the perfect time to change that. Sharing the purpose, vision, and core values isn’t just about transparency—it’s about deepening the connection with you and inviting you to walk this journey together.

Our Purpose: Our Stories, Our Legacy, Our Strength

Carry On Friends exists to celebrate and amplify Caribbean culture, uniting generations and preserving our shared heritage through stories and community.

This purpose is rooted in the belief that our stories—whether from the Caribbean countries or the diaspora—are powerful tools for connection, understanding, and progress. It’s about honoring our legacy while building strength for the future.

Our Vision: More Than One Story

Carry On Friends aims to lead the way in showcasing Caribbean culture and connecting the diaspora through storytelling and innovation.

The Caribbean identity is multifaceted, with countless stories that deserve to be told. This vision reflects our commitment to representing those diverse narratives authentically while finding innovative ways to connect and empower the diaspora.
